Positions available are for qualified & experienced chefs able to produce quality meals from raw fresh ingredients but likewise feeling comfortable dealing with fast foods at our busy times. Applicants must have experience working on their own, be self-motivated and cope under pressure but most importantly you must have a passion for food. • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty.
• Helping The Food & Beverage Manager to develop new dishes and menus.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
• Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
• Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
• Our business is seasonal so a flexible attitude is vital as is the ability to cope with serving 40 meals one day and 400 the next day quickly, efficiently and to the same high standard.

Due to an increase in business within our restaurant and Bed and Breakfast, we are looking to recruit a Commis Chef.

We offer a fantastic hourly rate DOE and also good scope for career progression and further training. Being able to cook quality local ingredients to the highest standard in a busy kitchen is essential and applicants will need to show their skills to our head and sous chefs in a trial service. We welcome chefs to also bring their ideas to the menus and weekly changing specials boards.

We have a team of 8 very talented and passionate chefs here at The Black Horse Inn and we are looking for another equally ‘foodie’ chef to join the team. This position would be perfect for those coming out of or in their last year of college training and a great kitchen to start learning the trade, or, alternatively someone who is passionate about food and has their NVQ training in place.

This position is up to 30 hours per week with more hours if required.

We offer 5.5 weeks paid holiday per year, enrolment on workplace pensions, a generous hourly rate plus great tips.

As a family run business we also close on Christmas Day and only open for lunch Boxing Day so we are very family orientated with our staff. We also have a very successful wedding venue and training in Rational cooking will be given. We are rural so own transport is essential as we are not on any public transport routes, sorry we do not offer live in. Demelza Hospice Care for Children is a charity providing hospice services for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and support for their families across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

We seek a Cook for our South East London hospice to deliver high quality nutritious menu options and to meet the special dietary needs of the children and young people who access our service.

You will have an NVQ Level 2 in Catering or an equivalent qualification, and a current Level 2 in Food Safety.

You must have an understanding of confidentiality with the ability to manage a changing workload in a busy environment.

Knowledge of special diets and previous experience of working in a child or healthcare setting would be desirable.

Hours will normally be worked between 8.30am and 7.00pm, every Saturday and Sunday. Enhancements will be paid for weekend working.
